The only rule that applies is; an essay comprises an introduction, the main body, and a conclusion. Every essay should have these three parts, other than that the below given rules should be kept in mind while writing an essay.
Content is More Important Than Word Count
Ultimately, your essay will be evaluated on the basis of the content you have provided, not on the number of paragraphs you have written. If you can cover your content in five paragraphs then they are good enough for an essay but if five paragraphs are not fulfilling the content requirement you need to add another paragraph.
There is no upper limit on the number of paragraphs but there is a definite lower limit. To do justice with any topic you need to write at least 3 paragraphs; one introduction, one body and one conclusion paragraphs. Anything less than that would be too inadequate to be called an essay.
Explain all Necessary Points
Explain all the main and necessary points in detail. Write as many paragraphs as required to cover all of your points. But make sure you don’t prolong the paragraphs. It would be safe to explain only one point in one paragraph. Start another paragraph for another point or concept.
When you are planning an essay, you need to do a lot of research to gather all the relevant information. Explore each point one by one in paragraphs connecting logically. A paragraph is only complete when it contains all the ideas that support a single point or single concept.
Suppose, you are writing a persuasive essay. In a persuasive essay, you present an argument and try to convince the reader about your point of view. In a persuasive write my essay, you need to consider both sides of the argument. You’ll spend most of the time on your side of the argument but you have to explain the other side as well. It might convert your five paragraphs essay into ten paragraphs. But, again, it’s not the no of paragraphs that matters, it’s the content that should be covered completely.
Remember the Purpose of Paragraph
Paragraphs should have a logical structure. One sentence is following the previous sentence. Make sure your sentences don’t look like; one is representing east and other Is representing south. All the sentences should be representing a single concept.
Paragraphs should be logically connected, remember what was the purpose of your paragraph and stick to it, do not drag irrelevant information or concept into it. One paragraph should only represent a single purpose.
